Borneman Is Dead Long Illness Proves Fatal Well-Known Young Business Man Expires Early Today At His Home Illness (tuberculosis) with which he was seriously stricken nearly two years ago proved fatal at 5 o'clock this morning to Frederick A. Borneman, a well known young business man, at his home, 315 West Lexington avenue, Elkhart, Ind. For the first six months of his illness, Mr. Borneman was a patient at Healthwin, just north of South Bend, but since that time he has been confined to his home. His condition became critical ten days ago. Funeral Monday - The body will lay in state at the A. G. Zelle chapel, 221 West Lexington avenue, and may be viewed there until 9:30 a.m. Monday. The funeral service, private, will be conducted at the funeral home at 10 o'clock Monday, and burial at Rice cemetery. The services will be in charge of the Rev. A. Lynn Booth, pastor of the First Congregational church, of whose board of trustees Mr. Borneman was once a member. Mr. Borneman was a native of Elkhart, born 45 years ago last Aug. 4, the son of the late Herman and Katherine (Wagner) Borneman. His marriage to Miss Louise G. Williams of Elkhart took place Jan. 7, 1918. Surviving with her are two daughters, Martha Louise, 12, and Marjorie Ann, 6. There are three brothers, Herman F., Edward C. and George O. Borneman, and a sister, Mrs. George (Rosa) Schutes of Valparaiso, Ind. In Hardware Business - Mr. Borneman, the son of an early and successful business man, had been identified with the business interests of the city for a quarter of a century. After attending high school for three years, he entered the Indianapolis Business College, and after completing the course there was bookkeeper for five years in the office of the hardware firm of Borneman & Sons, which consisted of his father and two elder brothers, Herman F. and Edward C. Borneman. Twenty years ago, he and another brother, George O. Borneman, established the Electric Hardware Co. at 515 South Main street, where the business is still conducted. Beside his membership in the Congregational church, Mr. Borneman was a member of Kane lodge of Free and Accepted Masons and of the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.
