Brahms und Verwandte in Dithmarschen

Beschreibung Hier sind „meine Brahms“, die ich vor einem Jahrzehnt aus den Kirchenbüchern in Brunsbüttel herausgeschrieben habe. Über die Umstände dazu habe ich woanders breit geäußert, siehe : http://zornigahnen.blogspot.co.at/ die Daten von “jenseits der Elbe“ habe ich von Wilhelm Johnsen übernommen. Johnsen hat sich ausführlich und vor Ort mit der Ahnenspitze des Komponisten befasst und die Linie 1933 veröffentlicht. Das war den Sippenforschern der damaligen Zeit und einigen auch noch heute nicht bequem, denn die Dithmarscher wollten den Johannes für sich vereinnahmen. Die Arbeit von Johnsen galt bis vor zwei Jahren verschwunden. Ich habe mir die Mühe gemacht und alle Brahms gesammelt in Brunsbüttel und Umgebung. So dass der Brunsbütteler Brahmsstamm wesentlich aktueller und mit mehr Brahms gefüllt wurde wie dies in der Arbeit von Walter Gerber 1981 der Fall ist*. Gerber war kann nicht vor Ort geforscht haben denn in Brunsbüttel „wimmelt“ es von „ lebenden Verwandten“ Das Brahms Institut Hamburg stellte 2004 fest das nun keine lebende Verwandte zu Brahms gäbe. Aus dem Stammbaum von Frau Ritter und anderer Stammbäume aus Brahmsfamilien in Brunsbüttel sowie aus dem Kirchenbuch Brunsbüttel habe ich 1300 Dateien mit dem Namen Brahms übernommen.

Anmerkungen Personen die vor  1920 nördlich der Elbe  geboren wurden  zählten zur  lutherischen Religion, daher ist die  Religionszugehörigkeit nur bei Abweichungen erwähnt.  Hinweis:  Oft findet man Familien der Region bis 1864 in dänischen Archiven [die Nationalität der Familien wird dann irreführenderweise als dänisch angegeben], weil die Region politisch der dänischen Krone unterstellt war.  In meinen Arbeiten wird grundsätzlich „Deutschland“ angegeben.  Abkürzungen  verwende ich für Schleswig-Holstein [ SH ] und  Deutschland [DE ] Niedersachsen [NS] u.a.  Berichtigungen, Hinweise gerne unter peterzornig@chello.at.

Brahms and relatives in Dithmarschen

This is about „my Brahms“  that I have found in the Brunsbüttel church registers a decade ago. I have written about the circumstances in detail, see http://zornigahnen.blogspot.co.at/. I have adopted the data about “beyond the Elbe” from Wilhelm Johnsen.ohnsen has examined the first known ancestors of the composer in detail and on-site. He has published his findings about the ancestry line in 1933. The family researchers of those times (as well as some of today’s family researchers) did not feel comfortable about this, because the citizens of Dithmarschen wanted to have Johannes for themselves.As recently as two years ago, Johnsen’s work was considered lost. I took the trouble and collected all the Brahms of Brunsbüttel and its surroundings. Thus, the Brunsbüttel family tree of Brahms is much more up-to-date and contains more Brahms than the work of Walter Gerber from 1981. Gerber obviously has not done any on-site research, because Brunsbüttel “teems” with “living relatives”. The Brahms institute of Hamburg declared in 2004 that there were no more living relatives of Brahms. From Frau Ritter’s family tree, as well as from other Brahms family trees from Brunsbüttel and the Brunsbüttel church register I have taken over 1300 files that contain the name Brahms.Here I initially want to show the data of Johannes’ ancestors. In  a second presentation I show all the collected Brahms, also the ones that spelled their name Brahmst and the ones that crossed the Elbe decades before the composer’s great-grandfather crossed it around 1700, settled in Barlt and are in no way related to the family of the composer.

Notes: People who were born north of the Elbe before 1920 were Lutherans and thus their religion is only mentioned in case of deviation. Note: Many families that lived in the region before 1864 can be found in Danish archives [where the nationality of the families is misleadingly indicated as Danish], because the region was under the rule of the Danish crown.
