Notes for this person
John Avery was a convict from England who arrived in Tasmania on the
Calcutta in 1804. There is good information on him in a book called
"Convicts Unbound" written by Marjorie Tipping. If you can't get hold of a
copy through your local library I can send you copies of the pages. His
wife, Margaret/Mary Ann Dann/Dunn was also a convict (Irish) who arrived on
the "Catherine" in New South Wales and was then sent on to Hobart. There is
information on her in the book "Notorious Strumpets and Dangerous Girls"
written by Philip Tardif. Again, if you can't access it I will send you a
copy. This book is also available on a CD.
Unique identifier(s)
GEDCOM provides the ability to assign a globally unique identifier to individuals. This allows you to find and link them across family trees. This is also the safest way to create a permanent link that will survive any updates to the file.
Identical Persons
GEDBAS contains copies of this person (probably submitted by other researchers). This list is based on the UID feature of GEDCOM.
