: George Karl Grebe, nace en la ciudad de Kassel, Alemania, 1831, muere en la ciudad de Puerto Montt, Chile, 1910, matrimonio en Chile con Emilie Geisse Ullrich, nacida en Neukirchen, Alemania,1833,hija de Friedich Geisse Haas y Maria Ullrich, alemanes llegados a Chile en 1852.
Llegado a Chile en 1852, se dedicó al comercio, se radicaron primero en la ciudad de Valdivia y finalmente en la ciudad de Puerto Montt. Se dedicó a las barracas y explotación del alerce,fue uno de los fundadores del Club Alemán y del Cuerpo de bomberos de la ciudad, en 1876 es nombrado por sus méritos Vice Consul del Imperio Alemán, recibiendo del Emperador Guillermo II la orden de la Corona.
