1880 Census Quemahoning Twp., Somerset Co., Pa. page 21 age 3 Johnstown Tribune-Democrat NPO 16 Jan 1926 reads : John O. Slagle, aged 48 years, died Wednesday night at his home inYoungstown Ohio, where he recently under went a operation. The body wasbrought here last night by his brothers, Harry and Albert A. Slagle. Thefuneral to take place at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the home ofChrist Slagle, of Benscreek, Somerset County, with interment in GrandviewCemetery. The deceased was born in Stoystown, being a son of Christ Slagle and thelate Mrs. Mary (Howard) Slagle. John O. Slagle was formerly employed asan engineer on the Western Maryland Railroad. A few years ago he locatedat Erie Pa., where his widow, Mrs. Nellie (Shoup) Slagle and son GrantSlagle and two daughters, Margaret and Evelyn Slagle reside. J.O. Slaglewas a brother to Ephraim, Highland Avenue; David Slagle, Edgewood; NoahSlagle, Uniontown; A.A. Slagle, Stoystown; William Slagle. Brookyln,NY; Robert W. Slagle, Ashland, Ky.; Mrs. Minnie Crissey, Sharon, PA;,Mrs. Carrie Lohr, Pittsburgh; and Mrs. William Rodgers, Hooversville.
