"Philip was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and came to Ohio insummer of 1816. Margarete, the daughter of Jacob and Margarete KatherineKramer Glauner, and Philip were married by the Rev. George Speilman. TheGlauner family came to America from Grafhausen, Wurttemberg, Germany in1830. Barbara died at a rather young age and her mother moved into thehome to help rear the children. Philip was known as a good neighbor, agood churchman, but a very determined person."
