Carol Boerrigter October 05, 1934 - April 10, 2018 Local FloristsSend Gifts Carol Boerrigter, 83 years, of Fremont, NE died April 10, 2018 at the PathfinderPlace in Fremont. Carol was born October 5, 1934 in the Pleasant Valley area of Dodge County, Nebraska to Reimal and Lillian(Schlautman)Dunker. She attended rural School District 61, Dodge High School and the University of Nebraska, where she lived in Love Hall. She did graduate work at Colorado State University and the University of Maryland. Carol began her Home Economics teaching career in Nebraska at Atkinson High School, Hartington High School, and the Lincoln Public Schools. She had a long career teaching in Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland. She retired to Arlington, NE and then moved to Fremont, NE. Carol married Glenn Boerrigter on June 13, 1959 in Lincoln, NE. Carol was a Cub Scout Den Mother, led a Brownies/Girl Scout troop, led a 4-H Club, and was well appreciated as a cook at Boy Scout summer camps. Carol was a former president and secretary of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fremont participating in the Quilter's group and Searchers Bible Study. Carol was named an Admiral of the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska. She is survived by son, Dean(Cara)Boerrigter of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Kay Boerrigter and (Greg Dunn) of Hyattsville, MD; sisters, Lois(Erwin)Beck of Fremont and Linda(Gordy)Ferguson of Eagle River, AK; brother, Byron "Toby" Dunker of Dodge, NE; and 5 grandchildren, Dean, Jr., Berea, Rebekah, Anna and Lillian. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Glenn, who died in 2008. Graveside service will be held on April 20, 2018 at 9 AM, at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. The Rev. Jon Ashley will officiate. |
