Notes for this person
John Geppi's birth date and death date are confirmed by the Social Security Death Index. I have not been able to determine if there is a familial connection between John Geppi and Concetta Geppi (the wife of John Geppi's brother-in-law, John Joseph "Janny" Potthast). According to the 1930 US Census, John's parents were both born in Italy. Two of his children (Rose and Anthony) are included in that Census, which incorrectly spells the Geppi name as "Jeppi." The Geppi family owned a fruit business, which I believe was located at Baltimore's Lexington Market.
