Ann Mary DIETRICH

Also known as Anna Maria. Great grandmother of President Dwight David Eisenhower. Anna Mary Dietrich was born to Capt. Jacob Dietrich (War of 1812) and his wife Anna Magdalena Hamman. The family lived in Jackson Township (Dietrich) and other surrounding locations. Anna Mary married Heinrich (Henry) Matter, son of John Michael Matter and Anna Maria Romberger about 1822. They had 10 children: 1. Elizabeth Matter (wife of David Sheesley, George Gilber, and Philip Bowman) 2. M. Thomas Matter (husband of Margaretta, and Lovina Lenker) 3. Catharine C. Matter (wife of Philip Wilbert) 4. Margaret Rebecca Matter (wife of Jacob Frederick Eisenhower) 5. Nicholas Matter (husband of Mathilda Lebo) 6. Enoch Matter (husband of Margareth Anna Reisch) 7. Sarah Matter (wife of George R. Willard) 8. Washington Matter (husband of Margaret Kumbler) 9. Moses Matter 10.
