Alice L. BONNEY

Mrs. Alice L. Ellis was born in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, onApril 10, 1844,the daughter of Benjamin and Betsy Bonney. She livedat the place of her birth until 1864, in which year she moved in acoveredwagon with her father to Little Sioux, Harrison County, Iowa,where she resided for 59 years, until the death of herhusband, AnderM. Ellis, in November 1923, to whom she was married on February22,1866, andto which union there were born 4 children, Mrs. May Scott,Mr. F. L.Ellis and Miss Dora A. Ellis of Council Bluffs, Iowa andMrs. J. O. Meyers of Prague, Oklahoma. She came to Council Bluffs inNovember 1923,just after the death of her husband and made her homewith her children living in Council Bluffs, stayingmost of the timewith her oldest daughter, Mrs. May Scott at 509 South EighthStreet,where she died onNovember 19, 1933 at the age of 89 years, 7 monthsand 9days.<br>Funeral services were held at 2PM on Tuesday, November 21, 1933 at thehome of her daughter Mrs. May Scott. Rev. J. R. Perkins officiated.<br>Decedent is survived by her 4 children above mentioned and 4grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.<br>Burial was held at the Little Sioux Cemetery, where her husband,father,relatives and many old friends are buried.<br><br>Obit published in newspaper
