Angeline Gray Van fossen 75 dies after a long illness
Mrs. Angeline Lillian van fossen 75, 415 Sixth Street, died Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. at the home of a son, Harry H. Van Fossen, 657 Fifth Ave. after a long illness.
Born Aug 16 1867 in Marion, the daughter of William w and Sophronia Harding Gray, she spent her entire life in Linn county except for four years in Idaho. she was married in Marion Feb. 23, 1886, toJames R. van Fossen, who died in 1923.
she was a member of the Marion Methodist church, Comforter division, Women's Home Missionary society; the W.C.T.U and the W.S.A. club.
surviving are three sons, Harry H. and Walter E. of Marion Iowa and Merle R. van fossen of Toddville Iowa and four daughters, Mrs. Lena M. Whting, Palo, Iowa and Mrs. Lilliam J. Spencer, Spriit Lake,Ida.; Mrs. Julia A. Fash, Phoenix, Arizona., and Lieut. Marion A. Van fossen, Camp crowder, Mo. one son died in 1933. she is survived also by 19 grandchildren and seven greatgradchildren and seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Jane Gray of Rapid City, s. D., and a brother, William W. Gray of Marion. A brother, George B Gray, died in 1941.
Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Yocom chapel by the Rev. Arthur W. Henke, Burial will be in the family lot in Oak Shade Cemetery, Friends may call at the chapel.

| Description | um 2009 veröffentlichte ich die erste Version meines Vorfahrenbaumes in GEDBAS. Heute 2014 kann man diese als überholt bezeichen und ersetzen durch die neue Version von 2014. Diese Datenbank enthällt möglichst alle Vorkommen von Schmiers weltweit in zwei großen Familiensträngen, die beide aus Westfalen stammen. Zusätzlich, wenn alles klappte, auch einige Streufunde, die noch nicht zugeordnet werden konnten. Mein Zweig stammt aus dem Kreis Steinfurt, ist in Westfalen ausgestorben und lebt als "sächsischer Zweig" weiter. Der andere große Strang stammt aus der Umgebung Cappenberg und hat zahlreiche Nachkommen in USA und Deutschland. In den vergangenen Jahren ist meine Forschung deutlich vorangeschritten. Beim Export hakte ich an "lebende Personen ausschließen". Hoffentlich vergaß ich bei keiner Person mit unbekanntem Todesdatum das Häkchen bei 'verstorben' zu setzen... Ich würde mich über Fragen zu diesen Familienbäumen freuen. |
