HENRY W. HOLZ

Henry William Holz, son of Fred Holz and Mary Beasterfeldt Holz, was born on a farm in School District No.91, Kaw Township, Wabaunsee county, Kansas, on February 21, 1903, and was suddenly called from this life on the same farm on August 24, 1947, having reached the age of 44 years, 6 months and 3 days. He was baptized on April 5, 1903, by the Rev John Abele, of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church of Wells Creek, Belvue, Kansas. He was confirmed into the membership of this church on March 24, 1918 by the rev. F. W. Weltge.

Mr. Holz attended school at both District No. 66 and No. 91. On April 20, 1932, he was united in marriage to Miss Ruby Rickstrew of Wamego, Kansas. One daughter, Virgena, was born to them. They lived on the home place of Mr. Holz. In January, 1945, Mr. Holz was elected to the church council of Immanuel Church and served in his office well until his untimely death.

the entire church membership and community was shocked to hear of this extremely sudden passing which came without warning and before the aid of a doctor could be summoned. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr and Mrs. Fred Holz, and one sister, Marie Perry.

Those of the immediate family who miss his passing are his wife and daughter, Mrs. Ruby Holz and Virgena; three sisters, Dora Allen of Topeka, Minne Reser of St. Marys, and Bertha Reser of Rossville; four brothers, Fred,a and Herman o St.. Marys, John of Kansas City, Missouri and William of Rossville, Kansas. He is also survived by a large number of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

The funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 27 and were conducted by the Rev. A. Vernon Kurz of Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church. Burial was in the Wamego Cemetery.
