FALL AT GOODYEAR PLANT KILLS MAN Glenn Beasterfield, 29, of Mayetta, was killed Friday in a 25 foot fall while cleaning structural steel at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. north of Topeka. He was dead on arrival at Stormont Vail Hospital. Beasterfield was an employee of J.F. McGivern, painting contractor, 716 Lincoln. Officials said he was cleaning structural steel above the truck and tire curing section when he feel onto steel pipes. Goodyear officials who inspected Beasterfield's safety equipment said they found no breaks and were unable to determine how he fell. There were no witnesses. Beasterfield was born April 27, 1932, at Emmett. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of Laborers Local 142, AFLCIO. Survivors include the widow, Helen Beasterfield and three children, Pamela, Roy and Ira, all of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Teffdeller of Chicago, Mrs. Mildred Luebbe of Mayetta, Mrs. Leota DeWitt of Granville, and Mrs. Delores Quiett of 1112 W. 2nd; three brothers, Roger Beasterfield of 517 N. Van Buren and Larry Beasterfield of the home. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary will announce arrangements.
