<p>Arthur Noble Iman, 40, was drowned at Elkton Saturday evening when he fell from a bridge girder and was carried into rapid water. A former structural steel worker at Stevenson, Wash., Iman had beenmaking his home at Elkton for the past year while working as a logger. While three companions were fishing off the bridge, Iman amused himself by climbing over the steel framework. Witnesses reportedthat he suddenly lost his hold and plunged 45 feet into the water. After striking the water, he called back that he was unhurt and would swim ashore, but his clothing prevented sufficiently rapid progress and before he could reach safety, he was swept into the rapids 350 yards below the bridge and was drowned. Surviving are his wife and young son.
