<p>MOUNT STORM,WEST VIRGINIA -- Walter Blaine Hanlin, 100, of Mount Storm, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg.</p>

<p></p>

<p>Born Oct. 7, 1897, in Scherr, he was a son of the late John W. and Rhoda (Iman) Hanlin. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Mae (Iman) Hanlin.</p>

<p></p>

<p>Mr. Hanlin was self-employed and retired from the railroad. A U.S. Army veteran of World War I, he was a life member of the Mount Storm VFW and the Mount Storm Lions Club.</p>

<p>Surviving are three sons, Robert L. Hanlin, Cambridge, Md., Donald M. Hanlin, Mount Storm, and Russell "Biddy" Hanlin, Hartmansville; two daughters, Marion Lancaster and Norma Kitzmiller, both of Mount Storm; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

<p>Friend will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, Md., Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.</p>

<p>Services will be conducted at the Mount Storm United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shelby Sisler officiating.</p>

<p>Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery.</p>

<p>Expressions of sympathy make the form of contributions to the Mount Storm Untied Methodist Church.</p>
