Mary Kathryn LESSMANN

Mary Katheryn Dunn July 13, 1928 ~ August 14, 2014 Resident of Pleasant Hill Mary was born in Independence, Kansas to John and Emma Lessmann. Marywas the oldest of six siblings. She attended the Lutheran school thirdthrough eighth grade. She graduated from Independence High School. In1942 she moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Fleming Grocery Company.She married Eugene Rainwater in 1944. The couple moved to Californiain 1944 where Mary worked in the lab at Tidewater Oil until 1972. Shemarried Gayle "Jay' Dunn in 1961. They moved to Georgetown in 1982.After Jay's passing, Mary returned to the Bay Area in 2005. Mary attended Faith Lutheran Church in Pleasant Hill during all hertime in the Bay Area. She served as organist, choir leader, committeemember, and other positions, showing her faith in her Lord JesusChrist. She enjoyed the arts, oil and water painting and calligraphy. Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, husband Jay, sister MarthaLikens, and brothers Richard and Al Lessmann. She is survived bybrother Walter Lessman of Pleasant Hill, sister Esther Karner ofMidwest City, OK, stepdaughters Maureen Hulin (Barry) of Arizona,Julie Wilson of Stockton, and granddaughter Kristin Cooper andgrandsons Justin and Jared Wilson, grandsons Geoffrey Hulin and BrentCooper. Great grandchildren Graham, Claire, Daniel and Mina Cooper,and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at Faith LutheranChurch, 50 Woodsworth Lane, Pleasant Hill, on Saturday, August 30, at2 PM.
