Ehlen could be the same as Ludwig Heinrich J. Ehlen Who was probablyborn 9 Apr 1865 in Germany and married Katharina Klindworth. They hadthe following children that I have been able to find. Otto, Louis,Henry J., Marie Sophie and Kurt. Otto was born at Laws, which is nearBishop. This Ludwig homesteaded land at Laws. He filed his claim in1887. My grandfather eventually bought this land. I think this Ludwigmay have been the son of Ludwig Caspar Ehlen who also filed ahomestead claim there, and is the uncle of my grandmother Christina(Meyer) Alpers. I have been thinking of writing to the Harsefeld,Hannover, Germany public records office to seeif they can tell me ifthis relationship is true.
