<p>Last will and testament of George Kluegel late of Perry County deceased. In the name of the Holy Trinity, I George Kluegel, Farmer at Altenburg in Perry County Missouri, being yet in a sound stateof mind but in great bodily weakness and therefore under the impression that the end of my earthly days might be very near, make this my last will and testament. 1) I bequeath to my beloved wife Justina Kluegel the sum of five hundred dollars out of the proceeds of my personal estate. 2) I leave to the disposition of my above said beloved wife, all debts due to me of whomsoever it may be. Confiding in her that she will apply the same to the benefit, support and education of our children. 3) I bequeath unto all my beloved children at equal shares a) my whole real estate consisting in land, buildings, fences etc. as it is more fully described in the respective Deeds to which is here referred b) my piano valued at $150.00 c) my books d) the balance that will be left from the proceeds of my personal estate after five hundred dollars have been paid over as above stated unto my beloved wife as my personal estate.I mention the following articles annexing their average value. According to my estimation to wit, a) 4 horses worth about $100.00, b) All the cattle $60.00, c) All the hogs $10.00, d) Wagon and harness $40.00, e) Farming utensils $10.00, f) Guns $15.00, g) All the scythes $5.00, h) Carpenters Tools $10.00, i) Copper & Iron Kettles $5.00, j) Several Saws $5.00, Sum (a-j): $260.00. 4) I make my beloved wife the sole and lawful executrix and administratrixof this my last will and testament and of my whole estate for the length of that time where she remains unmarried. Should she however marry again, then the administration of my whole estate shall devolve upon the 2 farmers viz. Hartman Grebing and William Buck, both settled here. As soon as one of my children will become of age, he shall enter into full possession and unlimited management ofmy estate without waiting until the younger children have become of age too. However to him, as he also first gets into possession of my estate, I make it a special duty to provide for their Christian as well as their bodily education in as far as they will want it yet at that time. And when all my children have become of age then they shall divide among themselves my estate at equalshares. In testimony whereof, I have herewith set my hand and seal, this 29th day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty three. George Kluegel (seal), William F. Buck,Ernest E. State ofMissouri, County of Perry: In the County Court of Perry County Missouri in vacation August 15th 1853. Be it remembered that on this fifteenth day of August in the year of our Lord Eighteenhundred and fifty three, William F. Buck, Ernest E. Bunger and Hartman Grebing, the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last will personally appeared before me, Henry L. Caldwell, Clerkof the County Court within and for said County of Perry and being be me duly sworn according to law disposeth and sayeth that they saw this within named testator George Kluegel sign this within and foregoing last will which he published as his last will and testament that the said testator was at the time of so doing of sound and disposing mind and over the age of twenty one years. And that deponents attested said will as witnesses thereto at the request of said testator by subscribing their names to the same in the presence of said testator and in the presence of each other which proof is deemed by me sufficient to establish said will sworn to and subscribed before me this day and year aforesaid.
