Nis Asmussen’s mother’s father’s father, Jes Thomsen, was ennobled by King Hans of Denmark in 1488 (Schmidt [supra note 1], 195-96, 216-17; Danmarks Adels Aarbog 25 [1908]: xi-xiii, 78-79).</p>
