His father is a Farmer. The household has a domestic Servant and a farm servant. \par 1901 at Housham, Valentine is 18 years old and working on his father's farm. \par 1911 at Housham, Valentine works on his father's farm. The property has seven rooms. He is still a single man. \par \par WW1 - It doesn't appear that Valentine served in the military during The Great War. His occupation as a farmer would have meant he was more valuable working at home. \par \par \par "Richard Wood did have a successor son, who was my Grandfather's sousin, Valentine Wood who was born about 1883, and he farmed Housham until his death in the 1950's. His widow , my Aunt Edie (Edith I presume) then moved to live with her sister at Moreton, Swinderby. They did have a daughter, whose name was Henrietta I seem to remember, who married but I dont know his name.I spent 1 or 2 holidays on the farm in 1947 or maybe 1948. I remember my horror at having to use an earth toilet in an outbuilding, and the interesting paraffin lamps, I also remember sleeping in a four poster bed, and helping to churn butter in a wooden churn, in addition to trying to milk the 2 cows. I last visited her early in the early1960's but I dont know when she died. I stayed on the farm in about 1947 or maybe 1948, so the birthdate you give for Valentine is probably correct. I remember he was dead when I returned many years later (about 1961) to visit his widow Edie, who had moved to Swinderby I think to live with her sister. (M Barlow). \par \par C Nevile purchased the farm in 1949 and at this point the Wood family left.}
