"Der Name Tobler (später: Dobler) taucht in in den Familienbüchern der Stadt Leutkirch erstmals nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg auf und zwar in den Ortschaften Heroth (Wolfgang Tobler 1650) und Nannenbach (Matheus Tobler 1652). Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um Brüder, die nach dem Krieg aus der Schweiz oder von Vorarlberg zugewandert sind."
