Ist am 4.9.1944 in Genua gefallen. Am 4. und 5.9.1944 wurden die Hafenanlagen von Genua von
150 US-Flugzeugen mit 438 ts Bomben angegriffen. Die Überführung italienischer Kriegsschiffe in
deutsche Hand sollte verhindert werden, nachdem Italien kapituliert hatte. Viele italienische und
deutsche Kriegsschiffe wurden versenkt. Es ist anzunehmen, dass Friedrich-Wilhelm Graf bei
diesem Angriff ums Leben gekommen ist. Er war kurz zuvor 20 Jahre alt geworden.
