Aus Leipzig Lexikon * 27.03.1623 Leipzig; gestorben19.08.1700 Leipzig Dr.jur. Adrian Steger war Ratsherr und Bürgermeister in Leipzig. Er studierte an der Universität Leipzig sowie in Frankreich. Im Jahr 1651 wurde er in einen der drei Räte gewählt. Im gleichen Jahr heiratete er Rahel geborene Schmidt. Seit 1663 war er Stadtrichter, seit 1666 Ratsbaumeister. Im Jahr 1682 wurde er Vorsteher der Thomaskirche. Er war auch als Übersetzer von philosophischen und theologischen französischen Schriften tätig. A. Steger war Regierender Bürgermeister der Stadt Leipzig in den Amtszeiten 1686/1687, 1689/1690, 1692/1693, 1694/1695, 1695/1696 sowie 1698/1699. Adrian Steger starb am 19.08.1700 im Alter von 77 Jahren in Leipzig.Seine Büchersammlung wurde nach seinem Tode durch Bartholomäus Keck versteigert.
