Abbé à St. Aubin (Paris). Zat namens de geestelijkheid van 17 april 1789 tot 30 september 1791 in het Assemblée Nationale. Trouwde in 1802 Isabelle Bulte, die daarvoor 24 jaar lang zijn huishoudster was geweest. Hij claimde daarbij altijd in kuisheid geleefd te hebben, maar hij niet kon helpen dat hij altijd gedacht had dat het celibaat voor de geestelijkheid een onjuiste regel was.
