Jennifer Jill Firl Kirtz was born at 8:42 a.m. on Oct. 15, 1968, in the city of Rochester, Olmsted County. She is the youngest child of Veryl Emma Bowen Firl and Donald Harold Firl, who preceded Jenni in death.
Her siblings are Cara Leeper and her husband, James, of Orem, Utah; Heidi Hilton and her husband, Steve, of Clifton, Va.; Jared Firl and his wife, Krista, of Rochester; Christopher Firl and his wife, Kathryn, of Rochester; and Thomas Firl and hiswife, Staci, of La Center, Wash.
Her beautiful children are Zachary Kenneth Kirtz, Zoe Hannah Kirtz and Zara Emma Kirtz.
Jenni married Robert Raymond Kirtz on Feb. 5, 2000. They later divorced in November 2010.
Jenni attended the public schools in Rochester. In 1998, Jenni graduated from Winona State University with a bachelor's degree in engineering in composite materials engineering.
Jenni was a devoted mother to her children.
She was a gifted artist, talented musician and intense animal lover. She enjoyed traveling, but had a particular fondness for Colorado. The greatest joy of her life was being a mother to her three children.
She passed away from this life Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the age of 46. She resided in Lakeville at the time of her passing.
Her private viewing and memorial service convened on Monday, April 6, 2015, in Rochester, and her body was interred at Oakwood Cemetery (Main) in Rochester. -- Obituary and photo courtesy of Rochester Post Bulletin
