He grew cotton at Mattews, Alabama. In 1851 James Bradley Meriwether</p><p>sent a bale of cotton to the worlds fair in London, England. The bale of cotton was judged and recieved a grand Prize in its catagory. James Bradley Meriwether was awarded a bronze medal and a silver pitcher and twelve silver goblets.Queen</p><p>Victoria made the presentation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>James Bradley Meriwether married Lucy Ann Sophia Taliaferro. They had eleven children.
