1 # The Courier-Journal on Dec. 10, 2007: Holthouse, Daniel C., 87, of Louisville, passed away Friday, December 7, 2007, at Baptist Hospital East. He was a native of Decatur, IN and a retired agent for Prudential Insurance Company. He was an Indiana University and University of Louisville Alumnus and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the Pacific Theater. He was an accomplished painter and participated in numerous performances with the Louisville Opera. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Holthouse; and infant daughter, Sarah. He is survived by his son, two daughters, a sister, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be noon Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 510 Breckenridge Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road. Description

Dies sollte der Anfang eines Familienbuchs für Handorf an der Werse (bei Münster) werden. Aber im Lauf der Zeit stellte sich heraus, dass unsere Vorfahren viel mobiler waren, als wir dachten: Heiraten über 30, 40 Kilometer waren keine Seltenheit.

Und wie ich schon früher schrieb: Die Werse stellte kein Hindernis dar!

Dorbaum und Kasewinkel sind die Handorfer Bauerschaften; zwischen Dorf und Dorfbauerschaft habe ich nur unterschieden, wenn es möglich war.

Bis 1822 wurde praktisch nie ein Ort angegeben, daher immer: Handorf.
