Ruesch, Junius C. Junius C. Ruesch "A steadfast, kind and loving man" Junius Crawford Ruesch, 83, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home January 24, 2005 in West Valley City, Utah. Born September 23, 1921 in Springdale, Utah, son of Hyrum and Edna Crawford Ruesch. Married Ernistine Vaughn June 6, 1948 in the Logan, Utah Temple. He was her loving caregiver before her death. Junius was a devoted member of the LDS Church and held many church callings including Scoutmaster and Stake High Council. He served three missions and was a temple worker. He served in the US Navy during World War II as a hospital corpsman aboard the USS Intrepid. Junius was known as a kind, patient, even-tempered man who showed by his example his love of family and his love of God. He lived frugally and gave generously to many charities. He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, reading, camping and reciting poetry around the campfire. Survived by children: William Vaughn (Tamara J.) Ruesch, Salt Lake City; Rebecca (Michael) Ball, Tooele; Daniel L. (Paula) Ruesch, Alpine; Sandra (Russell) Smith, West Valley City; Kathleen (Brad) Westover, Logan; Pauline (Melvin) Fish, Tooele; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters: Edna Nielson and Keith Ruesch, both of Las Vegas, NV; Faye Harrison, Logandale, NV; Ardith Wright, Las Vegas, NV; Corrine Rowley, Orchard, WA; Joyce Whited, Cumberland, MD. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at the Centennial Park Ward, 3372 S. Merry Lane (5275 W, West Valley City, UT). A viewing will be held Wed., 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road and Thurs. at the church, 1-1:45 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, at Junius' request, please make donations to the Make a Wish Foundation. Published in the Deseret News from 1/25/2005 - 1/26/2005.
