<p>Natural de Ulm, Alemanha, irmão gêmeo de Sebald Lins. Transferiu-se para Augsburg, Alemanha, por volta de 1543, para cuidar dos negócios da família. Obteve, com seus irmãos, mercê de Carlos V, dada em Augsburg, em 25 de setembro de 1550, de melhoria do brasão de armas ancestral e elevação hereditária à categoria de nobredo Sacro Império. Ampliando o patrimônio paterno, tornou-se grande proprietário e comerciante. Em Augsburg, casou-se, em 17 de janeiro de 1548, com Susana Jung. Faleceu, na mesmacidade. (cf.
