Notes for this person
Was a surgeon and served in the Revolutionary War. Was a part of the Louisburg expedition with his father. He was a justice of the peace often a Representative to the General Assembly in which he took an active and influencial part in the discussion which preceded the Declaration of Independance. During the Revolutionary War was Chairman of the Windsor Committee of Inspection. This committee was in charge of examining the activities of every member of the community to determine if any were sympathetic to the English. Wolcott was also placed by the Assembly at the head of a commission to examine applicants for the post of Surgeon and Surgeon's Mate. He possessed considerable of his father's turn for versifying and is described as being when in years "very tall erect as a plane tree, with hair hanging down his shoulders of sivery whiteness and with an eye and eyebrow and complexion of a dark hue; his appearnace very noble." Had a still born twin brother
