Samuel Stephens/Stevens was born at Plainfield, Connecticut, March 6,1714/15. He married August 1740, Anna Segar. The entry recording thismarriage is in the Sheffield, Massachusetts records, but he was marriedbefore to a daughter of Joseph Segar. He was living in Canaan,Connecticut April 11, 1741, and he and wife were members of theCongregational Church there in 1742. He was of Sheffield November 17,1743. The record of his death, in which he is called Samuel, son ofThomas and Mary Stevens, is dated September 1, 1754.
