Phineas Stephens (Colonel John, Uriah, Uriah, Thomas, Henry) was born inCanisteo, New York, April 8, 1794. He was a farmer, lived in Canisteo,and Greenwood, New York, and was a member of the Universalist Church. Hemarried in 1818 Hila Stephens (Jedediah, Jedediah, Henry, Henry), born atCanisteo, New York in 1796. She died November 22, 1871, and was buried atBaker's Farm, Canisteo. Mr. Stephens died in 1825, and his widow married,second, Jeremiah Baker (Anne Stephens, Jedediah, Henry, Henry).
