Nathan Stephens (Elijah, Uriah, Uriah, Thomas, Henry) was born atHornellsville New York, August 20, 1798, and died in Brighton California,January 25, 2875. He married Alba Lucinda Bostwick, born in NewFairfield, Connecticut, April 7, 1798, and died in Peoria, Illinois,October 4, 1841. Mr. Stephens removed with his family to Canton,Illinois, in 1836, where he lived a short time, going thence to Peroia,Illinois. In 1849 he removed overland to California and in 1850 settledin Brighton, California. He was a member of the California Pioneers and aprominent Mason.
