Notes for this person
Harriet was an equally resourcefull person. She wove cloth and madeclothing, gathered and preserved food, and taught her children how tosurvive in the mountain enviroment by organizing food-gatheringexpeditions. A granddaughter recalls that Harriet was "the sweetestwoman you nearly ever knew'.
