Margaret M Wheaton, 81 OBITUARIES (ALL EDITIONS)
Press of Atlantic City, The (NJ) — Sunday, March 21, 2004 WHEATON, MARGARET M., 81 - known by her friends as "Sis", passed away at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer on March 14. Born in Yeadon, PA, Sis moved to LBI in 1955.
She was the former owner of the Harvey Cedars Tavern & Sis's Tavern.
Sis had an infectious laugh & a great sense of humor. Her warmth, empathy & compassion for others was endless. Sis & her patrons donated the original kitchen for Southern Ocean County Hospital.
In her later years Sis was content with the simple pleasures of life, spending time in her backyard planting flowers, feeding the birds, enjoying the seasons.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry "Hank" Wheaton.
She is survived by her son Greg & his wife Janet Hoff of South Toms River and their children Lisa & Mike Coppola of Little Egg Harbor, Andy & Sharon Kosh of South Toms River, Bill & Maria Kosh of South Toms River; Also, a daughter, Margaret & her husband James Sprague & their son, Adam of Barnegat Light; a brother, Charles Oliver of Manahawkin. Sis also leaves behind ten great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at her beloved garden.
Contributions may be made in her memory to Southern Ocean County Hospice, 1140 Rt 72 West, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
