Laura J SMITH

Laura J. McMillen, 53, a lifelong resident of Howland, died at her home, on October 23, 2016 Sunday afternoon, after losing a courageous battle with cancer. Laura was born on March 17, 1963 in Warren, a daughter of Albert C. and Carol (Price) Smith. Laura was a 1982 graduate of Howland High School. She worked at Altronic's as a circuit board operator, for over 22 years. She was a proud member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed making jewelry, reading, planting flowers and attending car shows. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband and best friend, Eric D. McMillen, her two sons; Jeffrey (Melinda) McMillen, of Westport, Conn., William McMillen-Rek, of Girard, two stepchildren; Shannon McMillen, of Akron, and Daniel McMillen, of Howland, her mother Carol Smith, sister Karen Smith, both of Carrollton, brother Rob (Cindy) Smith, of Indianhead, MD. And two grandchildren; Darwin and Octavia. Laura was preceded in death by her father, the late Albert C. Smith. Services will be held, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. Warren, with Rev. Joan Purnell celebrating her life. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services.
