Bereits im Jahre 1764 Vorsänger bei Prozessionen, wurde Josef Schwär im Mai 1771 mit sechs anderen jungen Männern zum Singen bei den monatlichen Prozessionen bestellt. Im April 1778 wurden die Brüder Josef und Georg Schwär in ihrem Dienst als Sänger bestätigt. Nach der Hochzeit wohnte er mit seiner Familie im Schönbachhäusle, dort 1788/1793 genannt. Bauer „ab dem Schempen“, 1797 bis 1808
