Am 15. Juli 1634 wurde er gemeinsam mit Gottfried Olearius zum Doktor der Theologie unter Jakob Martini promoviert. 1635 wurde er Superintendent in Oschatz, 1638 Stiftssuperintendent in Merseburg. 1643 wurde er als Professor an die Universität Jena berufen, wo er 1651 auf der Kanzel einen Herzschlag erlitt und starb Clemens Brockhaus: Cundisius, Gottfried. Cundisius, davon liegen 1 Sohn und 2 Tö. zu Mersehurg, 1 Sohn und 2 Tö. zu Jena begraben. 1650 am 26.9. starb die Mutter dieser Kinder, 1651 am 25.Juni der Vater Es leben 3 Töchter: Regina Elisabeth Cundisius oo I David Fehme Pfarrer zu Merckwitz und Alt Oschatz, starb in Jahresfrist oo II Tobias Möller,Pfarrer da selbat 3 Ki. 2 SÖ. 1 To. Möller, ältesterSohn ist gestorben Catbarin Elisabeth Cundieius wurde bei der Tante Regina Freißleben erzogen, sie ist. verlobt m. Friedrich Gotter, 8ngehender JUDr., Practicus Altenburg Johanna Elisabeth Cundisius wurde bei der Großmutter erzogen und lebte bis zu deren Ende dort.
