Margaret Isobel Sears TRITSCH

Margaret I. Haggerty Westmoreland Margaret I. Haggerty, age 86, of Cooper Street, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 18, 2009, at St. Lukes Home, with her loving family at her side. Margaret was born on February 5, 1923, in Rome, NY, a daughter of the late Justin and Vesta Sears, and was a graduate of Oneida High School. On February 10, 1941, Margaret married the love of her life, James F. Haggerty, in Oneida, NY, and the couple spent 63 wonderful years together until James death on December 9, 2004. Prior to her retirement, Margaret was employed at the Griffiss Air Force Base in the accounts receivable and finance department. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, music and her pets. Her greatest love was for her family and it was evident by her gleaming smile that filled the room when she was with them. Surviving are her children and spouses, Romie, Judy and Brian, John and Connie, Jim and Sue, Cathy, Chrissy; nieces and nephew and their spouses, Carol and Herman Cordette, Doug and Rose Haggerty, Francis and Dennis Jackson; grandchildren, Tammy Haggerty, Mike Wallace, Dr. James and Colleen Wallace, Dawn and Wayne Miller, Dean and Karri Haggerty Richard, James Henry and Shannon, Jerry, Stacey and Chad Stiles; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Mason, Britney, Logan, Sydney, Abby, Ryan, Ben, Gabe, Alexis, Shane, Kaylynn, Quinnlin, Gavin, Connor, Julianne and Skyler Margaret. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Mrs. Haggertys funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Vernon. Burial will follow in Westmoreland Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Clark North at St. Lukes Home for their kind and compassionate care given to Margaret during her stay and especially during this past week.
