Staat van landverhuizers in 1895, provincie Groningen, inventarisnummer 5549. Vertrek in 1895 vanuit Bedum naar Chicago, reden: lotsverbetering. Betreft man, vrouw en 2 kinderen (Bernhard Johan Josef (28 mei 1893) en Wilhelmina Maria Susanna (24 december 1894). Obituary: Gerhard Schwoeffermann was born in Werlte, Province of Hanover, Germany, July 13th 1863. In 1892 he was married to Helena Terveer, making their home in Holland. Three years later they emigrated to America and settled in the city of St Louis Missouri. In 1895 they moved to Minnesota, residing at St. Charles. Altho he had been failing in health for several months, he was not confined to his home until ten days before his death. On Saturday, July 11, he suddenly took a turn for the worse, passing away at 8:40 p.m., just two days before his fifty-first birthday. He leaves to morn his loss one son, Bernard of Randolph, Minn. and one daughter Wilhelmine of this city. Funeral services where held at St. Charles Catholic church on Tuesday afternoon at ten o'clock, interment being made in the Catholic cemetery beside his wife who died March, 1907.
