Over the next two decades ,Gustave Belfrage collected and sold insects to every important emtomologist in America and Europe . The list of buyers ,</p>( for his insects ) , reads like a who's who of emtomologist of his day . The few references of actual payment indicate that Gustave Belfrage must have been very extraordinarily efficient and very proliferant to support himself inthis field of work , since the standard rate of payment was noted to be five cents per insect specimen .
