Norma ZipfelNorma M. Zipfel, nee Burgdorf, 84, of Red Bud, Ill., born May 15, 1922, in Red Bud, Ill., died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.Mrs. Zipfel was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Red Bud, Ill., and the VFW Auxiliary Post 6632.She was preceded in death by her husband, Justin J. Zipfel, whom she married May 15, 1941, and who died April 30, 1986; her parents, August and Catherine, nee Boyer, Burgdorf; six sisters, Clara Bailey, Pearl Zimmer, Oziel Pohl, Laura Ellner Ethel Enoch and Myrtle Burgdorf; and three brothers, August, Eddie and Alvin Burgdorf.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (Robert) Schmidt of Groveland, Ill., Ronald (Judith) Zipfel of Peoria, Ill., Charles (Bertie) Zipfel of Grayslake, Ill., Michael (Brenda) Zipfel of Red Bud, Ill., Thomas (Rhonda) Zipfel of Red Bud, Ill., and Joseph Zipfel of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the Red Bud Library or American Heart Association. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home, Red Bud, Ill.Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at St. John's Catholic Church, Red Bud, Ill., with the Rev. Tom Stout officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Red Bud, Ill. KOCH-LIEFER FUNERAL HOME, Red Bud, Ill.
