Adam met Katherine Dockweiler, the sister of one of his neighbors in St. Martin'd Parish in Louisville. She has been been the governess in North Africa to the family of the French diplomat/engineer Vicomte Ferdenand Marie de Lesseps - the builder of the Suez Canal.

Born to Johann Adam Hommrich and Katherine Steudter.

On November 19, 1886 in Starlight, Indiana, he married Maria Book. They had the following children: John William 1894-1950; Anne 1887-1981; Clara 1889-1949; Eleanor 1892-1978 and Joseph Anthony 1897-1975.

After the death of his first wife in 1897, he married, about 1899, Katherine Dockweiler (1870-1943) and they had three children: Frank 1900-1961; Edwin Joseph 1907-1976; and Fr. Richard Hommrich 1910-1976.
