Gemäss Bartenschlager zog Jakob Stockar nach Solothurn und gab das Schaffhauser Bürgerrecht 1562 auf. Er war u.a. Hauptmann in Frankreich (unter Henri III) und starb anscheinend in Nevers in 1589.
Aus seiner Ehe mit Christina Schaller nennt Bartenschlager 5 Kinder (alle ohne präzise Daten); die Ehe eines Sohnes und den Namen einer Enkelin.
