  Geraldine Gertrude Bunting May 18, 1918 - June 20, 2006 Fennville, Michigan ----------- BUNTING MORRIS - Geraldine G. Bunting, age 87, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, June 20, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy E. Bunting and her sister Gloria Miller. Geraldine is lovingly remembered by her children Ann Gary Mattson of Walled Lake, Charles Susan Bunting or Fennville; her sister-in-law Millie Bunting; and her best friend Elizabeth Weiman. She was volunteer for as a Red Cross Nurse during WWII and volunteered many years as a “Candy Striper” at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. Visitation will be held for the hour prior to a 12:30 pm Friday Mass at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Church - Royal Oak. If you are unable to attend the service you may sign the family’s Memory Book online at www.cookfuneralservices.com. In honor of Geraldine, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

  Hello again Diether, We (Goetsch America) are all very happy to have made the connection with you and our German counterpart. This has been one of the missing links to our past. Last weekend the Goetsch family had its first family reunion. Sixty-three Goetsch descendants/family members came from all over the U.S. to Aunt Millie’s home in Dearborn, Michigan. There are many more that were unable to attend. Aunt Millie is 95 years old>daughter of Hattie Goetsch>daughter of Marie & Otto Goetsch. We took many photos which we will share. Millie’s daughter Janet was one of the main coordinator/planners of this great event. I have cc: her on this email. She will be one person to whom you will be corresponding. Goetsch America has decided next year to visit Germany. Janet has graciously taken on the task of planning this event. We were thinking to come in early September, visit the area from where our family is from and perhaps take a Baltic cruise. I’m sure your advice will be really helpful. Don Porter, Anna Goetsch Ratz’s grandson from California, has taken on the project of compiling the Goetsch family tree. The sharing of information will be wonderful! I have cc: Don as well. You have a few specific relationship questions. Janet may be able to answer them, if not, Don. Can’t wait to see what is next for all of us.   Millie Bunting is my mother and she was the wife of Robert Ernest Bunting. She is 95 and loved the reunion party. She is from Jacksonville, Florida like Aunt Anna said in the letter so many years ago.

  I signed up for the European records options with ancestry.com, and this is what I came up with for the marriage of Marie and Otto. It was October 21, 1882 in Prenzlau. I can view the original record of the marriage, but can't quite copy it yet for you to see it. I am searching through pages and pages of birth records for Marie Jahnkow Goetsch. There were many with similar names in that time period. I haven't found her yet.
