He had at least three brothers, all older than he was.He married Susannah Wieland, from Peterswald, Germany. They came to USA, where their oldest Mathhias was born in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1855 they settle on a farm near Dorr MI, in Allegan CO. The farm was on 144th and 22nd. Eight more children were born. Peter died of cholera morbus before their last child was born. His first gravestone deteriorated, his grand daughter Mary (daughter of his son Joseph) replaced it.
