Portepee-Fähnrich dem Feld-Artillerie-Regiment General-Feldzeugmeister (2. Brandenb.) Nr 18 überwiesen. 18.10.1894 Portepee-Fähnrich. 18.08.1895 Seconde-Leutnant. 13.09.1899 zum 01.10.1899 in das Feld-Artillerie-Regiment von Holtzendorf (1 Rheinisch.) versetzt. 15.11.1899 bis 27.01.1900 zum Lehrgang für Leutnants bei der Feld-Artilerie-Schiessschule Jüterbog kommandiert. 27. 01.1900 in das Ulanen-Regiment Prinz August von Würtemberg (Posen) Nr. 10 versetzt. 01.01.bis 31.05 1902 zur Kavallerie-Waffen-Schule kommandiert. 16.05.1904 scheidet aus dem Heere aus und wird mit dem 17.05.1904 als kaiserlicher deutscher Leutnant in der Kolonnen-Abteilung der Schutztruppe für Südwest-Afrika (Namiba) angestellt. Gefallen als Kompagnieführer der 5. Kompagnie am 03. 01.1905 in den Kämpfen von Gross-Nabas 02. bis 04.01. 1905. Feldzug: Aufstand in Südwest-Afrika.
