Notes for this person
Hier der Nachruf, wie er bei Find a Grave veröffentlicht wurde: "John Stangl, aged 52, 513 West Blodgett street is dead today as the result of a fall from a box on which he was standing while painting yesterday afternoon at the Marshfield Brewery where he has been employed for nearly 30 years. Mr. Stangl was discovered at about 3 p.m. yesterday, lying face downward and unconscious beside the box from which he is thought to have fallen. He was taken immediately to the St. Joseph's hospital where it was discovered he had received a fractured skull. He died a few minutes later without regaining consciousness. It is not known how long he had lain after the fall before the accident was discovered. It is thought that the closeness of the atmosphere and strong odor of the paint may have caused a fainting spell which left him unable to break the short fan from the box which is only about 24 inches high. The funeral is to be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the St. John's Catholic church, Father A. J. Dorrenbach officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery. The body of John Stangl will be taken to the Baer-Lange-Rembs funeral home. Father Dorrenbach will recite the rosary Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock. Mr. Stangl was born Nov. 21. 1878 in Germany and came to this country at the age of 13 with his brother Joseph, also deceased, and located immediately in Marshfield. He was married to Miss Mary Geiger, of this city and who survives him, on Oct. 23, 1911. There are four children who also survive the deceased: Helen, 14; Adelalne, 12; James, 10; and Betty, 7 Other relatives who survive the deceased include: Mr. and Mrs. Mike Stangl, stepfather and stepmother; Mrs, William Imoehl, Mike Stangl, and Mrs. Grover Brandt of this city; Benney Stangl, Kenosha; Mrs. P. Krause, Dearwing, Minnesota; and John Stangl, North Dakota, all stepbrothers and stepsisters. Right sisters who survive him are: Miss Hilda Stangl, city: and Mrs. Theresa Boerer, Oregon City.
