Ephriam Stiles HOPPING

Was mentioned in hisfather'swill. The following is from "Memorial Record" of Alabama, page 428:-"Epharim Stiles Hopping came southe about 1825 and was professorin the University of Georgia at Athens. He afterwards devoted his attention to the manufg\facture of cotton goods at High Shoals, Georgia. He was a man of ability and influence." In tracing the descendants of 70-Ephriam Stiles Hopping (6), 189-iMrs. B.S. Maultsby(8), his grandaughter, has given this writer almost the entire story. previous to our becoming acquainted, Mrs. Maultsby had done considerable searching for her grandfather's ancestors. By our mutual efforts we came in contact wiht the wife of 416-David A. Hopping (8), of Madison, M. J. who had the Bible records of the descendants of our sbuject, 70-Ephariam Stiles Hopping(8). It is with great pleasure that this writer acknowledges their heop and pleanant visits in their homes.
