Notes for this person
[Bill's Nutt.FTW] Christopher Cooper lived in Culpepper County, Virginia for 22 years and then moved to Washington County, Virginia on the Clinch River where he entered the service under Col. William Russell's campaign against the indians. He was in the battle at the mouth of the Great Kanhaway River on October 10, 1774. In 1775 his father and brother were killed at Cowens Fort. In the year 1794 he removed to the STate of Tennessee, Sumner County, and then to Wilson County, TN, where he died. This part of Wilson County later became part of Cannon County. The Cooper book, source of this information, contains a great deal of information about his estate and his will. Copies are included in the book of land sales, the 1840 census of Cannon County, TN, and other transactions and documents. There is a short history of Sanders Fork, a map of Cannon County.
